∙ 14y agoWooden tennis racquets are heavier than then the current racquets manufactured today. Many wooden racquets can weight up to 14 oz/ 397 grams. With that extra weight they lack the maneuverability that current racquets have. Plus they have a smaller headsize making them more difficult to hit. Wooden racquets were used for many years until aluminum was introduced to the sport by Wilson.
