Walter football say's he runs a 4.48. Crabtree is quoted as saying that he ran a 4.5 in high school, and hasn't been timed since. Most people see him as a Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald speed though. Jerry Rice ran a 4.69 and Fitgerald ran a 4.6. All guy's will tell you there fastest time ever if you ask there speed. the combine almost always comes up with slower times than they normally run. Hester ran a 4.4 at the combine though he drops a 4.2 and change getting out of bed on any given day. Steve Smith considered a serious burner in the NFL ran a 4.41 and change at the combine Terell Davis ran a 4.7 and change. Crabtree won't run at combine or proday because of a foot fracture that needs surgury before his pro day to be ready for Rookie camps. If I were to stab in the dark I would have to say he wouldn't beat a 4.5 at a combine and maybee not even a 4.6 on a perfect run though he could break a 4.5 but very few have there best run at the combine like McFadden did dropping a 4.32. Most guy get tight knowing the millions of dollars on the line for a 40 yard run and choke. Deon Sanders dropped a 4.19 at the combine the fastest on record. That being said I'm a Seahawk fan and would kill to have this guy on our team. I think he's the next Jerry Rice great YAC ability good route's and the untangibles are off the chart. I don't care he's slow and only 6'1" he is physical and he is going to take away many DB man card.

∙ 14y agoActually crabtree has been quoted as saying he has not ran a 40 yard dash since he has been at Tech. It was rumored in high school he ran high 4.4 low 4.5, but with the clock watches high school coaches use it's hard to tell. I would say at the very worst he is 4.4, but very possibly 4.3. He is quick.
http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/wr/Michael-Crabtree.php says he runs a 4.55 i think he probably runs around a 4.4-4.5

Yes, Jerry Rice was considered very fast for the NFL. He had excellent speed and acceleration, which contributed to his success as one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history.
Jerry rice ran a disappointing 4.7 in the 40 yard dash at the NFL combine but still went on to have one of the most successful careers of any wide receiver.
