Those that are physically handicap often have difficulty maintaining the mobility necessary for sustaining muscle. Because of this they are susceptible to muscular atrophy. Being physically active is very important for both maintaining muscle that they already have and also to build new muscle. Also, things like therapy and exercise can help with range of motion which increases the types of tasks the physically handicapped can perform.
