yes infact they do , they need it to swim fast enough and to average there wind speed in the water and the strenght/power ,persistence they need or have to per filled in the water/pool/race [etc]
No way! i was reading some of the other answers on here and i feel agility might mean endurance or something. But if you mean agility in the terms of how quickly you can change direction than it is not necessary. I was a national swimmer for most of my life and i'm a 6ft girl so one of the least agile people you would ever meet. Definately didnt need agility to excell in swimming! Hope that helps :)

Cycling is a good way to get aerobic exercise, but will do little to help with agility. For that you could try using a speed rope or do gymnasitc exercise or yoga for your flexibility.
Swimming is an exercise. Exercising keeps your body fit.
