How do you get into a fight in NHL 97?

On NHL 2k10 for wii, to get in a fight all you have to do is hit, push, or nudge a player... same if they do it to you. Then at the top of the screen it might say " START FIGHT" when it says that press the minus (-) button.

wanna know how to fight in nhl 2k6 for ps2? first you have to go to a quick game, then when your in hit start then go to options go all the way over using r1 and l1 then when you see fighting down there with a little line by the side of it turn that all the way up that means fights will happen alot or more often then hit triangle when it sais use knew settings or blah blah something like that hit yes. then go back to the game and to fight you need to keep pissing the player off by slashing him up close using the right analog stick after ahwile of doing that, something with pop up saying something something press select, F A S T! if you don't press it fast enough like in 2 seconds it will go away so press select then everybody will go off the ice then when its just you two either press l2 to call him out in front of everyone note: (only do this if you know you arent gonna lose)

if you wanna just fight him press square for a jab these are quick and hard triangle for uppercuts these drain your stamina so don't use them alot or circle if hes beating you circle will break the hold. so i hope i helped

there will be a pop up o the bottom of the screen and it will say fight press back.....(for the Xbox 360 the back button is on the left of the logo on the remote)......there you go

Pressing Y (Triangle for PS3) at any time usually does the trick. Although it's more likely you'll get a fight late in the third, or if the game's a blowout.

You can not start a fight manually in NHL 2k3. Instead, the computer instigates the fight depending on a hard hit.
