I know how difficult this is from experience but don't let it get in your way. There really is nothing technical to do about this problem- my BEST and very IMPORTANT advice I have for you is to keep your eye on the ball and your feet moving. Doing this will 1) focus your concentration and keep you from being surprised with the ball's direction and 2) enable you to reach the ball where ever it decides to spin to. We all know that on a slice the ball tends to take a weird spin once it hits the ground but use those two pieces of advice and you will be much more comfortable returning those shots!

Is soft tennis sport recognized in India and is it helpful towards a career in the future?

Yes soft tennis is recognized in India by th Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, by the government of India and by Indian Olympic Association. Soft tennis has its federation named as amateur soft tennis federation of India (ASTFI) with many state associations affiliated with ASTFI. Soft tennis is an event under tennis in Asian games, so its future is very bright because soft tennis would be included in Olympic games. The procedure is going on to include this sport but soft tennis is under consideration by the Olympic Committee. I play for west Bengal state and we have our association namely WBSTA (west Bengal soft tennis association )we have a website too.

As with most any other shot in tennis, hitting a slice requires the player to be moving forward, which puts his/her weight behind the shot (in that respect, the concept is similar to that of bowling, boxing, baseball, football, etc).
