You can curve the blade of your hockey stick by using a small propane torch and gently heat the blade (without burning it) and using gloves so as not to burn your hands. The fiberglass coating will melt a little allowing you to bend a curve in the blade. After you have the desired curve, put the blade in cool water. The blade should hold the curve. You can straighten the blade the same way. Note: You can get a penalty (and lose the stick) if the blade is too curved. 1/2" is the maximum allowed in the NHL.

Well,

first you start with a thin hockey stick base made of either wood or plastic. You can do what IHSAN did but I think it may not be of any good.

They used like snap lock back stuff wrapped tight inside and like a plastic kevlar case that's the ihsan blue ice.

ANYWAY the shape should be a shape like hockey stick with or without a slight curve otherwise you could curve to much and the stick could be illegal. Use a 1 dollar coin and sit it upright and roll under the curve if it rolls completely under ILLEGAL.

Purchase a hockey umpires ring to see what measurement you can have for a head and shaft (slap and Tommy zone). Continue layering with plastics or if you can get hold of Kevlar or carbon or even aluminum use it as much required until stick is the feel you want continue modifying it. Careful of the stick of conduct rules no white faced sticks as umpires can confiscate any white faced sticks.

first things first this isn't your granpappi's old hockey puck this is serious stuff. First step is get a soda can! step 1. find the CORNER of the can. step 2. place thumbs on opposite sides of the corner and press in firmly but not to damage the can. step 3. make a crease and then another etc. until your all the way around. proceed to twist the can in the direction of the creases. step 4. crush it down with your hands as far as your strong young arms can bear. then place the can on a hard flat surface to crush it with your foot, right or left which ever your preferance. if you've completed this step you should have a flattened can that looks unopened. (if you are lost refer to steps 1-3) then you are ready to play some hockey. neato!

A hockey player requires more than his or her speed, stamina, and strength. They also require the proper equipment. One of the most prominent pieces of this hockey equipment is, of course, the hockey stick. The person selecting the stick must assess the player and choose the stick carefully. Then they must customize the stick to the proportions of the player who will be using it.

If this is the player’s first stick or the player is still growing then he or she should go to the store so that you can measure the stick against the body. There is no right size just a general guideline. It is a matter of preference, handedness, and play style. Generally, forwards use taller sticks while defensemen opt for shorter ones. As a general rule of thumb, the height of a hockey stick should reach the forehead of the player with the blade on the ground. This way when the player is wearing skates, the stick should reach between the chin and the nose.

If the right stick is too long, you can have the extra length sawed off in the shop or you can do it yourself. If you choose to do it yourself, it is best to saw off small slices at a time and continue measuring as you go. Then you should take the butt end and cap it or wrap it in tape. Some players prefer to have the stick untapped at the end. If you choose to tape it, wrap at least a foot of tape around the handle in two separate layers.

If you are using a wood stick, then next step is to apply the wax in order to waterproof it and prevent rotting. By taking care of your stick in this manner, you can make it last a very long time. It will also help the taped portion of your handle stay intact by not allowing moisture to cause it to unravel.

The next step is to bend the blade of your stick. You do this by using a blowtorch to warm the stick and make it supple. The flame should be close enough to warm but far enough away so it does not leave a mark. Once you get the proper bend, let it cool. Once it’s cooled, tape the blade to the stick. The rule of thumb is heel to toe and back again.
