How do you remove scratches from a football visor?

I have heard if you smear toothpaste in the scratch and wait twenty minutes then remove the toothpaste with water let it dry and it shall sparkle again but I havnt tried it yet do please do contact me at arctcilions58@Yahoo.com if this does work

There are numerous plastic cleaners and polishing materials available. I would recommend those in the aviation sector (for plastic aircraft windows) as being the most effective. Small surface scratches can be removed with a plastic polish/cleaner; more severe scratches may require a more aggressive polish compound, followed by a fine polish compound, (ie Step 1, step 2, etc). Excessive deep scratches might require the use of a kit that rejuvenates the plastic with several sequential polishing media pads that are very similar to sandpaper! With each subsequent pad becoming finer and finer until the plastic becomes smooth and clear again. That first pad will scare you as it totally obliterates the surface!! This kit might not be worth the expense of just replacing the eye shield.
