Your thigh is actually called the Quad if you are talking about the front of your leg. The best way to increase the muscle mass of your Quad is to sprint and lift weights. The best exercise hands down for this muscle is the Squat.

ok well, i'm assuming you're lean and you want to put on muscle, not fat. good workouts for thighs are squats and squat jumps. also, running helps alot. to build muscle in bulk you want to do sprints, not distance. between sprints and squats you should bulk up nicely.
