In order to reduce television static, one should turn off other electric devices, check the connections to the television, and try a different cable. One should also call the cable company to see if there are any problems with the cable signal.
Easy. You use the static to bribe the T.V. back to life.
Tv's are digital now so distortion of the signal is in a loose connection, check all your cable inputs and make sure they are tight

static
Static images (images that don't move) can leave imprints or ghosts if you will on the screen. This was a problem with earlier sets and gaming systems. On plasma TV's static images should be avoided as this problem of ghosting will occur. On LCD TV's this ghosting will usually cure itself. Check the TV menu and see if there is a gaming function within the functuality (usually on plasmas) as this will allow less light and reduce the possibility of ghosting.
You can use a little water mist to reduce static cling.
This is mostly true on the older ones, since the screens held an electrostatic charge. So the electron charge attracts dust that has the opposite charge. If the newer stuff is getting dusty, it is a static charge too, but the device is not actively creating it. Plastic can be prone to building a charge on its own or with rubbing.
