bad idea because it will get unremoveable glue everywhere and it will get in the way of the bolt try spraypaint

Wrap it with camo wraps. Its cheap and available in airsoft or firearms/hunting stores nearby. It also stick to itself so it wont ruin your rifle's paint. The other way is simply by wrapping camo clothes/fabrics/net around your sniper rifle. Military sniper usually do those kinds of trick. I hope this answer can help.
