No he was not traded to the lakers, the lakers signed him as a free agent afte rhis contract was up in Orlando, now he was traded to Miami tho, it was Gary payton, and shaq leaving L.A, and lamar odom coming in. with a draft pick or something... la was freeing up cap room. and actually alot of ppl talk about Kobe and shaq had problems, that why they couldn't be on the same team anymore... it is a fact that laker managment could afford the 2, and had to make a choice..
