NASCAR started because of moonshine it is an illegal drink that they transported from the mountains to the cities where they would get money for transporting it successfully but they needed to go fast. then all the transporters got together and they strated to challenge each other and then it got more and more popular and soon to be it was NASCAR. i hope i answered ur question=)

NASCAR was started by Bill France in 1947. nascar stands for national association for stock car auto racing. France and some other drivers who wanted to start a racing series gathered together and made rules for nascar.
