Find a studio with a good reputation in your area and take classes with a professional. It is a good idea to take classes with an actual instructor rather than videos becasue the instructor will be able to correct your posture.
This will also give you an opportunity to meet with other beginners and other people who have the same interest as you, and will help you through your journey in dance.
If you do not feel comfortable in a class setting, consider private lessons.
It's always important to practice technique and posture. Some great videos are available, however, go at your own pace.
Remember: Feet parallel and about hip width apart, knees slightly bent, lower abs engaged, chest lifted, shoulders back and down.
Practice, practice, practice.

∙ 10y agoHow long it takes to learn to belly dance will vary. Some people will pick up the moves instantly and some people have to practice a lot. It is recommended to follow classes to learn to belly dance and if one wants to learn more quickly it can be useful to take private lessons.
