∙ 12y agoWhen my dad told me that when he was a teen he had a 5hp Briggs and stratton motor that made his go kart go 70 mph. this is what he told me he did to it.
1. Jetted the carburetor
2. Bored the cylinder .30 over
3. Took the valves out of a 10 hp motor and put them into his 5 hp motor.
4. this is from me i would suggest that you check the carburetor and see if it has a governor on it. if it does take it off just don't get on the gas too hard it will blow a rod.
5. my dad told me that you can do this for about $40 but idk. i am actually in the process of getting a go kart and doing this stuff to it.

∙ 13y agowell on my go kart i put on tall narrow tires. the size was 13.5 JOHN DEERe lawn mower tires. it helped. on my ride, my carbuerator has 3 screws,for gas,air,and idle.
idle- top
air- middle
gas- bottom
twist idle screw to the left. then twist gas screw to left a tad bit.
then air screw alittle to left a little bit 2. hope this helped.

An electric Golf cart can be made faster by installing a larger battery or higher output engine. The power cables must also be upgraded to handle the increased load.
