answerit is a really good idea to join lessons if you have a local rink and they have lessons if you have a friend who ice skates find out when they go and go that day so they can teach you a few things i ice skate and i helped my friend she is now a really good ice skater like me its always good to learn from a friendWiki User

For hockey, Get full leg extension, Swing your arms forwards and back (not side to side) When pushing off use your toes to dig in, after the stride make sure you bring in you feet so they are under you body, this allows yo to get maximum leg extension on your next stride.

∙ 14y agoThere are many different ways that you can learn to ice skate. You can take classes, practice, or watch other people ice skate. It's very similar to roller blading. If you are to hold onto the side of the wall while you are getting used to the feel of the blade & the ice, then you'll get the hang of it quick. Don't be afraid to fall. :)

∙ 12y agoWell, first of all you need to have lots of skating experience. Then once you are really good, go on an advance team. soon enough you will be really good at ice skating. And you could sign up for an ice skating team, that's how to be a NOT famous ice skater. Being a famous ice skater takes skill and its great if your up for a challenge. If your over eighteen (or old enough), you could be in the Olympic games. Who knows there are many reasons how, but that's just a few.....
get some skates go to a ice rink practice and ask if they have any ice skating lessons
