2007 will mark the first year a foreign brand (Toyota) is competing in the NASCAR cup since Jaguar competed in a few races in the 1950s (and was the only foreign car make to win a NASCAR race-in 1954- until Toyota came along). However, the Toyota Camry will be the ONLY car model assembled in America to compete in NASCAR. All other car models represented on the track are from American companies, but assembled in Canada or Mexico.

Yes, Toyota is currently participating in Nascar.

Al Keller, driving a Jaguar on June 13, 1954, won the first Nascar race using a foreign-built car.
