Like most racket sports, Badminton has a long history. It can be traced back to 2000 years ago in ancient Greece. Back then Badminton was called battledore and shuttle cock, and was played by two people hitting a shuttlecock back and fourth with tiny rackets. The battledore, modernly known as a racket, made from parchment of rows of gut stretched a crossed a wooden frame. The shuttlecock, whose name has remained the same, was made with a light, cork like material, with feathers around the top. This game spread to many other countries, such as, China, Japan, and Greece.
During the 18th century in India, the game was called POONA. British military officers who were stationed in India brought the game back to England. The game received its name in 1873. The Duke of Beaufort was having a party at his country place in Badminton, Gloucestershire. The game was being played at the party, so they decided to name the game badminton.
Over the years, badminton has changed its name and many of the rules, but one thing that stayed the same is the shuttlecock. The shuttlecock still has the same name and it is still the basic idea. The racket has evolved quite a bit over the years too. Now we use metal frames and the center is filled in with a wire pattern. Many of the rules have changed. Before, badminton was very basic, just hitting the shuttlecock back and forth. Now we have a lot more rules, to make the game more complicated.

The key differences between table tennis and tennis are the size of the playing area, the equipment used, and the rules of the game. Table tennis is played on a smaller table with a smaller ball and paddle, while tennis is played on a larger court with a larger ball and racket. Additionally, table tennis is typically played indoors, while tennis is played outdoors. The scoring system and serving rules also differ between the two sports.
