The Duke of Beaufort was having a party at his country place in Badminton, Gloucestershire. The game was being played at the party, so they decided to name the game badminton.
Over the years, badminton has changed its name and many of the rules, but one thing that stayed the same is the shuttlecock. The shuttlecock still has the same name and it is still the basic idea.
