The old scoring system is not used anymore.
The judges count your score and see who has the most points!!!
There are four judges in figure skating.
Usually 2 or 3 And if your lucky sometimes 6.
in figure skating you have skates you do spins spirals and jumps on ice and get points for it when you do a fault you dont get many points who ever has the most points from the judges wins quite simple
Figure skating is not a race, and does not have a fastest time. There is a highest skill, but not a fastest time. Skaters are scored by a panel of judges based on the overall presentation, their execution of moves, and the difficulty of those moves.
From my experiance as an ice skater, there is not always 4 judges. But why there is more then 2 or 3 judges is because each judge is looking for a different technique in your skating. Like, one is looking to make sure are your jumps are technically right. Another may be for your emotion and creativity and another may be looking at your speed and overall strategy. That's why sometimes judges scores can be so varied.
Nothing is quite as similar, but figure skating and diving are also judged sports
Three judges
Judges.
Fail a doping test, perform an illegal move (backflip, for example), fail to show up on time for the competition, interfere with another skater's performance, bribe judges.
I may be wrong but I think some kids were just playing around and started dancing on ice! then kids had competitions and soon it had judges and crowds and then became and Olympic sport!
The Judges selected the competitors
