1969 World Series
"Neon" Deion Sanders is the only athlete to have played in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. He played for the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX where they routed the San Diego Chargers 49-26. Sanders also played in the 1992 World Series for the Atlanta Braves, who lost in six to the Toronto Blue Jays.
World series masters suck
Every team that has ever won the World Series, never won the Super Bowl.
You can not download Super Mario World 2 on the wii shop as of yet. Only the first game in this series is currently available.
I will answer this two ways: 1) The first city to have a team win a Super Bowl and a World Series in the same calender year was New York. The New York Jets won Super Bowl III, played January 12, 1969 and the New York Mets won the 1969 World Series. 2) The first city to have a team win a Super Bowl and World Series in each sport's respective season was Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Pirates won the 1979 World Series and the Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl played for the 1979 season, that being Super Bowl XIV played on January 20, 1980. The New England Patriots and the Boston Red Soxs both won their respective championships in 2004 being the first to do so.
