NB: The user providing the above answer hasn't provided any proof of this event and it doesn't show in a Google search - apart from this webpage. The 'official' record is 4.24, but the 'electronic timer' is started by hand and the players competing in this event at the NFL Combine do not wear helmet and kit.

The fastest on record since the official timing is held by Tennessee Titan RB Chris Johnson. His time was 4.24 seconds.
