i dont know much about density of air but i do know this, if hot air is in a Basketball in the cold, it should be easier to score as the ball would physically rise if the air is too hot, but pressure would pop the ball first, so that stops it floating away, but yeah, hot air in a ball, on a cold day means the ball will bounce higher, and be easier to shoot, as less power is needed for the same shot, as on a hot day

Yes, cold temperatures will lower the pressure inside the ball causing it to be less bouncy when playing outdoors. Of course, if you are playing indoors in a heated area, the cold weather outside will have no effect on the ball.

Yes; hot air takes up more space, so there would be more pressure on the inside of the ball.

How does hot and cold air have an effect on an balloon?

If there is warm air in the balloon, cooler air makes the balloon rise and if there is cold air in the balloon warmer air makes the balloon fall.

Can hot air or cold air effect how far a person hits a golf ball?

Yes, in hot air the air is a lot thinner so there is less resistance compared to cold air which is a lot denser so more resistance.

Air is cold or hot?

Air can be either cold or hot.

What temperature does a basketball bounce higher in hot or cold?

Hot

Is there such thing as hot air and cold air?

Yes. There is such thing as hot air and cold air

Where do winds come from?

Winds blowing is the effect of change in the temperature in the air. Since hot air is lighter than cold air, hot air develops from cold air nearer above ground, and when it's hot enough, it becomes lighter and rises up. Cold air stays nearer to the ground and the force of hot air coming up and cold air staying put forms winds. If the winds are big that means the change of temperature is big too.

Does hot and cold air fall or rise?

Hot air rises and cold air falls.

Does hot air move into cold air or does cold air move into hot air?

Both. Since hot air is less dense than cold air, the hot air rises as the cold air falls (i.e. as the cold air displaces the hot air). If you were to dye hot air & then inject it into the center of a room, you would observe the dyed hot air rising. What you may not realize is that gravity draws the (invisible) surrounding dense cold air downwards as it displaces the (visible) less dense dyed hot air. === Previous Posters Answer: Hot air rises

Why does heat rise and how does cold drop?

Cold air is compact air Hot air is less dense than cold air Ergo, hot air rises ; cold air sinks

What atmospheric conditions might affect the flight of a hot air balloon?

High winds, thunderstorms, or very cold air would have a detrimental effect on any hot air balloon flight.

Hot air rises cold air sink?

technically hot air does not really rise it is the cold air that sinks below it because it is more dense.
