A hot ball would travel farther, assuming the same volume of air is within both. This is because the warm air would expand, creating pressure within the ball. The more firm the ball is, the less force it absorbs on impact, which causes the energy to be converted into momentum.

A Golf ball fly further in warmer air than cooler air due to the friction caused by denser cold air. Playing in colder temperatures you should club down to increase carry lost due to temperature variable

A warmer golf ball goes further, you cannot warm it up though because that is not allowed under the rules of golf.

How does the temperature of the golf balls affect the golf balls height?

A warm golf ball will come off the club faster than a cold ball, with subsequent more spin. So up until a realistic point, a warm ball will fly higher and farther than a cold one. Largely because a cold ball is harder to compress than a warm softer one. Will being cold or warm cause a golf ball to fly at a higher trajectory relative to it's distance.

How far does a golf ball fly when it has been in the sun for an hour?

Do golf balls fly farther at higher elevation?

well yes a soccer ball with more air will go further than a soccer ball with no air

Does a golf ball go farther go farther when placed at the front or back of stance?

Placing the ball at the back of your stance will effectively make the ball fly lower and farther. By placing the ball at the back of your stance you are decreasing the loft of the club. If you want to hit a high shot move the ball forward but remember it will not go as far.

Why do golf balls fly so far?

because the golfer hits them harder and harder then farther and farther.

Diffence between a smooth golf ball and one with dipples?

A golf ball has dimples which makes it aerodynamic, so it can fly and fly straight. There are no golf balls which have no dimples that are produced for full shots.

What are the demples on golf balls for?

They make the ball aerodynamic and allow the ball to fly.

What is the importance of dimples on the golf ball?

They make the ball aerodynamic and allow it to fly.

If a golf ball has been used would it go farther than a brand new ball?

No, most likely it would go pretty much the same distance unless it has some damage. You probably wouldn't be able to notice much of a difference unless you are a very consistent striker of the golf ball. However, if you were using a real old school gutta-percha type ball then it would go farther after use. This is because the ball did not have dimples and after use it developed nicks and scratches that served as dimples. The reason dimples allow a golf ball to fly farther is a whole other topic however.http://www.howstuffworks.com/question37.htm

How fast can a golf ball fly?

Tiger Woods' ball speed is 170 MPH.

What are the effects of temperature on sports balls?

It makes the air inside expand and will stretch the plastic and make the ball bigger. If you keep heating, the ball will split and let the air out. I once tried to fix a ball that was pushed in and so had a dent by boiling it until the dent popped out. The dent did pop out, but the ball was bigger than it was and did not bounce like it should-- maybe a child could get some use from it, but to me, it was useless.
