Does Vermont have an NCAA football team?

The University of Vermont does have a football team. Varsity football was discontinued at UVM in 1974. However, since 2007 the University of Vermont has had a club team and is a member of the National Club Football Association (NCFA). The Team is officially recognized by the University and receives a portion of its funding from the UVM Student Government Association. It also has permission from the University to use its colors, mascot and symbols. Home games are usually well attended. The team has competed in the past against other College Football clubs and the varsity and JV teams of NCAA member colleges. The UVM Football Team competes in the North Atlantic Conference of the NCFA. In 2017 UVM is scheduled to play the Castleton University JV team, Sacred Heart University Club*, Johnson and Wales University; Southwestern Connecticut; Eastern Connecticut State University*; Clarkson University* and the University of Hartford*

CSC, Middlebury and Norwich have varsity teams. UVM has a club football team. However, during the last 2 years the UVM Football team has competed against either the JV or Varsity teams of the other Vermont colleges.
