No but it is suggested. I don't know anyone who wears them but if you have braces (which I do) then my orthodontist said i should wear this head gear mouth gaurd thingy but i dont and no one i know where's one so i say no you dont have to
I did when I played it is always good to wear a mouth guard some of my team mats didn't but when you get tackled in can hurt and the other players might punch you or hit you in the mouth on accident so I really recommend wearing a mouth guard.
