Not exactly... For a younger skater that is growing and getting longer blades as the boot size goes up, there is some "getting acquainted" time associated with the new blades just because of the difference in length. This usually takes just a few hours of ice time. A change in blades that is more significant - blade radius, hollow radius, or toe-pick design could take a bit longer to get used to. This is all related to the skater getting comfortable with the blades - the blades themselves are ready to go full-speed once sharpened.

How to Care For Ice Skating Equipment?

Ice skating equipment can be very costly, meaning that when you buy it, you want to get the most use out of it as possible. Figure skates get too small, blades get rusty, boots get worn down, skate guards break, tights tear, costumes become obsolete. If you add the cost of equipment to that of ice time and training, the sport can be very expensive. The least a skater can do is learn to care for her equipment properly so as not to incur any extra equipment expenses.Skate boots: The figure skating is divided into two parts-the boot and the blade. Though attached, each part is significant in and of itself and has a specific method of care. Protect boots while training using tights or boot covers. Get boot tape or white-out to fix gashes and other unsightly marks. Learn to tie the boots correctly. After every skate, let the boots air out completely. Don’t leave boots in a place (such as the trunk) prone to diverse temperatures.Skate blades: Dry the blades carefully after every skate. After they blades are thoroughly dry, keep soft covers over the blade to protect them from dirt, dust, and the environment. Never walk on your blades without plastic blade covers.Skate tights: Hand wash, keep dry, and use until thread bare! Double tights up for more protection and warmth.Skate dresses: Wear them as much as you can. Wash dresses by hand especially if there are rhinestones or embroidery on the dress. When you are finished with your dresses, you can often sell them on the internet or swap them with fellow skaters so you are not spending extra money.Other: Keep all equipment securely stored and neatly organized in a sturdy bag. Keep a variety of care products with your equipment such as skate tape, new laces, basic first aid, and extra sets of gloves. When arriving home from a skating session, open the bag, air out the equipment, and wash anything that is musty or damp.A little care for skating equipment will save a skater much time and money in the future, not to mention she’ll be able to skate without worrying about her skates, tights, or blades.

What is better on grass studded football boots or bladed football boots?

its up to your preference but studs are actually designed for hard ground ( because they cant break through) and blades are designed for soft wet ground because they don't need to be as strong to penetrate the surface. i actually find its more comfier the other way round though!
