The requirements vary from school to school and style to style. In the style I practice, you have to be at least 14 to test for a full black belt. You can obtain a 'junior' black belt prior to that.

If you are asking how long one usually has to study karate in order to receive a black belt it really depends on the dojo you go to, and the age of the person when they start. However, in many dojos in the United States if someone begins after the age of 18 on average it takes about 5-6 years.
Kickboxing the sport, has no belt ranks, neither does Muay Thai, the Thai style of kickboxing. However, to kickbox professionally, like with regular boxing, you need to be over 18. Fighting professionally if you're underage is illegal, and can land your trainer in jail. It can land YOU in juvenile hall too actually.
Okay, this is kind of a dumb question and I suspect that the answer is no. I was just curious if there is a way to, basically, earn the privilege to compete in the black belt ranks. Not to get a black belt, just to compete with them. I'm curious because I'm just starting in tkd, but I'm 18, have some home tkd training, some karate training, and some kick boxing training. But I never trained in an environment were there were belts. So i'm starting from the bottom, and I just want to get an idea of how long it will take to get to serious competition. Thank you for your time!
NO, In New Hampshire its not mandatory to wear a seat belt if you are over 18.

depending on your age it can take different amounts of time. you have to be at least 16 years old to gain it.
