The difference with the PS1 games is that they are less technically complex and all PS3 can play select titles because it was not as difficult to engineer the PS3 to be able to do this.They are even able to make the PSP and PS2 play PS1 games because they are not that difficult to make a emulation program for.You can play ps1, 2, and 3 games on the playstation 3. No you can not. Only the very first PS3 models with the 4 USB ports played some of the titles.Making the PS3 play PS2 games is nowhere near as simple and the games manufacturers did not have to cooperate in helping Sony make the PS2 games playable in the PS3 as they were not licensed for the PS3 only the PS2.

No. Of course not. Mario games(which are the best by the way) are made by the GREAT Nintendo. Mario Games are Nintendo's Mascot and Pride and Glory. It's probably where they make most of their money from, so why would they hand all that over to Sony (one of their rivals)? Mario games are strictly Nintendo!!!! And personally I think that if they ever did do a Mario game on PS3, IT WOULD'NT BE AS GOOD AS HOW NINTENDO WOULD HAVE DONE IT!
