Do swimmers shave their pubic area?

yes people or swimmers do shave they pubic hairs because of the swim wear in training being a swimmer my self yes all the girl at my club do because they are boys every were and what we are wearing are high cut swimsuits so the answer is really YES

It might help a little, since you are shaving off something that creates resistance in water, however little the resistance may be. Shaving before racing is more of a psychological trick though: shaving not only takes off hair but dead skin cells as well, and the removal of dead skin cells makes your skin feel smooth and "faster" in water.

most do, although it is not necessary. if girls don't shave their pubes, sometimes the peek out of the bottom of the swimsuit and people can see it. personally, i shaved mine. My high school swim team would have shaving parties. i went to a 7-12 school, and even in grade 7 we got naked in front of each other and shaved, and we would sometimes shave each other. it was actually really fun, and i i have some pictures on my phone still from the parties!
