They get paid by their clubs. But they do get paid a "match fee" for International matches. England players donate all their pay for international matches to charity causes via the Team England Footballers Charity
Found this from June 2007 when the players pledged to donate their wages from International games to charity: £750 for a defeat, £1,000 for a draw, £1,500 for a win, (plus of course what they get from sponsorship.)
