What are the disadvantages of being a pro soccer player?

There may be some depending upon the player. Some may not like all of the attention but for the most part it would be a good life. You would get lots of money an excercise doing something you are good at.

Injury Risk

While Basketball is not a contact sport by design, there is plenty of intentional and inadvertent contact when players are in close to the basket, blocking shots, fighting for rebounds and otherwise moving on offense and defense. Players who swing their elbows, to clear space around them as they come down with a rebound or who knock opponents to the ground while trying to keep them from scoring can cause serious injuries. And with all the running and quick turns and pivots, the risk of rolling and spraining an ankle, either on the floor or by stepping on another player's foot, is high no matter where you are on the court. Older adults have a greater risk of injuries to their knees and other joints with all the jumping and landing that occurs during a game
