Yes, he did. He drove the very first NASCAR race Hendricks entered. It was a Grand Natrional race. Rick verified this when he first hired Junior. Of course Dale never went by the name Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was Dale Earnhardt his son was Dale Earnhardt Jr. Period!

Yes he did! When Jr. signed with Hendrick Motorsports they did an interview where Rick affirmed that Sr. did in fact race for him and won Hendrick's first race for him in 1983. Check this link out below.
