Yes. But the Dallas Cowboys running back missed the preseason and the first two games of the regular season because of a contract dispute. Needless to say, the impasse was resolved quickly after the Cowboys lost both games in his absence. Smith went on to have one of his best seasons, rushing for 1,486 yards and winning Super Bowl XXVIII and National Football League MVP honors.

Yes. February 3rd 2005 he retired from the Arizona Cardinals & then signed a one day contract with Dallas (for no money) and then immediately retired as a member of the Cowboys.
