For most people a standard "yoga mat" will provide sufficient padding. If you find that you need something softer then you could look into a sporting goods store and see if they sell gymnastics mats. Sometimes you can find one small enough for floor stretches. This would translate well into super soft yoga mat. One other tip is to get a yoga towel along with your yoga mat. This will not only add additional cushioning, it will keep your mat clean and smell free. After all, washing towels is much easier than large mats.
