There is no requirement for a player to have previous football experience in order to play in the NFL. However, the chances of someone making a team without going through a college program are extremely slim. Without college playing time there is no chance for a scout to see you or your talents, and since no NFL teams have open tryouts anymore...
Additionally, without previous playing experience your lack of experience would create a tremendous disadvantage, regardless of how gifted an athlete a person was.

∙ 18y agoNo. The only drawback to not going to college is that is the only place that an NFL draft scout will look to find new recruits.
