There are two types of spinal cord injuries. Complete spinal cord injuries refer to the types of injuries that result in complete loss of function below the level of the injury, while incomplete spinal cord injuries are those that result in some sensation and feeling below the point of injury. The level and degree of function in incomplete injuries is highly individual, and is dependent upon the way in which the spinal cord has been damaged. http://www.brainandspinalcord.org/spinal-cord-injuries/index.html

Technically you will not die,If you break your neck it could possibly paralyze you in some way due to the nerves running from your neck into your spine and arms and such, they could be damaged, but if you break it the wrong way you could die.

Possibly, but not always. Breaking the NECK isn't the problem so much as breaking the SPINAL CORD. And modern medical treatment is restoring more and more broken neck victims to full mobility. Spinal cord injuries very often result in full or partial paralysis.

The actor Christopher Reeves, who played Superman, is perhaps the most notable recent example of a paralysis like this. Reeves fell from his horse while jumping, and broke his neck; he was permanently paralyzed. However, the extent of the paralysis will vary from patient to patient.

The reason why you die when you break your neck is because of a severed spinal cord. if you are luck this does not happen. and you just end up paralyzed with limited abilitys.
