My son wears braces and we do not boil his because the braces are shifting on a regular basis moving the teeth in place where they need to be so the molding would be different than needed as time goes on.

Real coke will not get mouldy if you sterilise the bottles first....boil in water for ten mins,air dry and it will not mould up
