Electricity for the islanders is generated primarily through diesel generators or renewable energy sources such as solar panels, wind turbines, or hydroelectric systems. Some islands may also be connected to mainland power grids via undersea cables.
It was like a typical rural life before electricity arrived in most of the villages in 1970s. Electricity has totally changed their lifestyle and now no village is left in Pakistan without electricity.
I believe it was the unfortunately under-appreciated and eccentric Nikolai Tesla.
The Fair Isle islanders do not use mains electricity because of their remote location and the high cost of connecting to the mainland grid. Instead, they rely on locally generated renewable energy sources like wind turbines and solar panels, along with backup diesel generators for when renewable sources are not sufficient.
