NCAA rules prohibit the blocking of field goals at the crossbar by a player in the end zone (which is not always the case). This is an unusual rule.
Leaping at the crossbar was declared illegal by the NFL (in 1969?), after it was in vogue for about a year. In 2003, the NFL also enforced a "running forward and leaping" ban for the protection of the airborne attackers and the kickers alike. The only legal block is hitting the ball coming off the foot, or jumping straight up.
Not in the NFL. According to the NFL Rulebook:
"It will be illegal for a defensive player to jump or stand on any player, or be picked up by a teammate or to use a hand or hands on a teammate to gain additional height in an attempt to block a kick (Penalty: 15 yards, unsportsmanlike conduct)."
A block can happen on either side of the line of scrimmage, so, yes, if you can jump high enough and the ball doesn't cross the plain of the goal posts, then you've successfully blocked the kick.
Of course, you can't be aided by someone throwing you or jumping off of someone's back... that would incur a hurdling or leaping penalty.
You can score on a blocked field goal as long as it isn't an extra point. In College Football you can return PATS for a defensive 2 point convo
It can be considered a blocked if it is legal and all goaltending rules apply

Yes, as long as a knee has not touched the ground. If the ball is recovered, you may run if you pick up the ball immediately.

A thirteen letter word that ends with tending: overextending
If goaltending was legal, the sport that it would be legal in would be basketball. Goaltending is when a defensive player misdirects the ball from going through the hoop when the ball is on its way down through the hoop. When the ball is on its way up to the hoop, it is legal to misdirect it. Also when the ball has hit the backboard of the hoop it is not allowed to be touched or misdirected, because that is also considered goal tending, and if goaltending was taken out of the game of basketball then players would be able to touch the ball when it is in the air whenever they would like, and there would most likely not be as high of scoring as their is in basketball today if it was legal.
