Can you be a gymnast a the age of 10?

No way. You can start gymnastics at any age. Some people start when they are 4 and others start when they are 12 but you can start any age inbetween. ---- What Gymnastics sport are you asking about? There are in some countries 6 or more different Gymnastic Sports. In the US there is 6 The one that has the oldest gymnast participating in it is Group Gymnastics. There has been athletes in their 80's. Acrobatic Gymnast can get into their 30's at the international elite level and so does Gymnast who concentrate in Tumble and Trampoline.

You can be a gymnast at any age you want. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. It will take a while to learn to shift your weight around athe right way and learn all the tricks, don't expect to be elite overnight unless you are rrrreally talented . The best age to really enter is around 4 or 5 because your bones are still growing and if you can learn the basic ideals then your prettty much set. Don't get frustrated if your peers are advancing faster than you, that just means to work harder. Please do gymnastics for love of the sport and not for show or glory ok? Oh and one last thing... always have a spotter or harness around you. Remember, just keep working and if you have the right body or talent for it, youll probably move to the top. Nope! I'm 15 right now and I used to do gymnastics up until the 4th grade. Then I stopped, and I lost all of my skills. I came back this year and started at the very beggining, and I worked hard and now I'm working on front handsprings, backhandsprings, kips, balance beam dismounts, etc. It'll be difficult and discouraging at first, but it takes time. It really does. I strongly encourage you to go out and try it. It is very fun and rewarding.
