I'd say boxing is the easiest to learn, because it doesn't include kicks, or require that much flexibility.

The problem is that you have to have fast hands and have a very strong upper body for it to be effective.

The best in my opinion is Karate, but it takes many years to learn and a lifetime to perfect. Boxing should take about 2-5 years to be good....at least 10 years to be considered a pro.

None of them will be easy, boxing will take the shortest time to learn, but in a street fight, Karate would fare WAY better.

None of the Martial Arts should be considered easy. They require a great deal of dedication and time to learn and maintain the skill level.

Martial arts vs karate?

Better for what? If you want to fight in a ring with rules, the study of the MMA are probably best. If you wish to learn a traditional martial art with the philosophy associated with it, karate is probably best. While some believe that mixed martial arts will serve you better in a street fight, you will miss out on the philosophical parts of karate.

Would taking karate or martial arts classes have an affect on dancing skills?

The legendary Sugar Ray Robinson, considered pound for pound the best modern boxer ever, prided himself more on his dancing skills, than his boxing. Indeed; the whole boxing game does ressemble a deadly waltz. Karate won't do anything for your dancing, but, your dancing will do a lot for your Karate. Ray Robinson said, time and again, boxing is about rhythm. He wasn't a Karateka, BUT, Robinson was the best pound for pound fighter, in a time in boxing history when the sport was really dangerous, until the early 80's but even there it has gone largely discarded. And note that Bruce Lee, considered one of the best martial artists of all time, was the Cha Cha champion of Hong Kong in the 1950's. If anything, when you spar for the first time you may find yourself with a bit of an edge.
