Yes, but to clarify - the event was open to anyone in the Commonwealth, but after 2003, the rules were changed so that only British and Irish players could play. That would include British people of Indian descent, whether they were born in Britain or were naturalised citizens. But an Indian national could no longer enter, same for any other Commonwealth nation.
