They're called Trotters. Their legs move diagonally - right hind, left fore. Left hind, right fore.

Pacers have a lateral gait - both left feet move together, both right feet move together.

there called a "pacer" horse some other people just call them "trotters"

a horse trots by moving its legs in a two beat fashion on a diagonal so for instance if the front left leg is forward so is the hind right the other two legs will be back

no canter is faster. trot is a 2 beat gait and canter is a three beat gait.

When a horse is "pacing" both legs on the same side are moving forward at the same time. When trotting, opposite legs are moving forward at the same time.
