Not really. This combination of symptoms is generally the body's response to some sort of trauma to the area (i.e. bumping into something, being hit with or by something, etc.).

With Breast cancer, some of the more common symptoms include:

1) a lump, nodule, or mass beneath the surface of the tissue (in the breast or underarm area) that usually does not correspond with some sort of trauma to the area or any lymphatic placement,

2) pain or tenderness in the associated area

3) occasionally: red streaking or pinkness, as associated with infection or injury

4) possibly:, discharge from the nipple, not related to lactation/breast-feeding

5) sometimes: general feelings of malaise, exhaustion, possible slight fever or flu-like symptoms.

6) occasionally: pain or swelling inside the clavicallar (neckbone) or underarm areas (which might indicate disruption or acute activity of the lymph glands which service the chest and breast area.)

What type of breast pain is a sign that you might have breast cancer?

Breast Pain and CancerThere is no specific type of breast pain that is a sign that a patient might have breast cancer. Breast cancer does not typically cause breast pain.Virtually all the breast pains that women experience are caused by benign problems. Most of these are caused by fibrocystic breast and hormonal changes. However, you have to be careful when you hear people say that if you have breast pain then, you do not have breast cancer. This is because breast pain and breast cancer can coexist in the same breast, but they are not usually related. In other words one did not cause the other. So, the same woman with breast cancer can have breast pain, just like the same woman with breast cancer can have blue eyes or grey hairs. So, a woman with breast pain is not protected from breast cancer and should still be screened for breast cancer like any other woman.

How will you be able find questions related to breast cancer?

In the upper right of the page there is a little icon that looks like a magnifying glass. Click on that to go to the advanced search page. On that page, search for breast cancer within quotation marks, like this: "breast cancer" ... if you search that way, it will pull up all the questions on this site that have that exact phrase in them.

Where on the breast does breast cancer start?

The truth is that it could start anywhere on your breast. But most of the times breast cancers start on your left breast and on outer and upper quadrant (if you divide breast in four parts by two perpendicular lines).

How long does numbness and tingling last after ct surgery?

If you are talking about axillary node dissection for breast cancer where there is lymph node involvement, I am told it is permanent although I would really like to hear otherwise from someone who has undergone this surgery. I had an axillary node dissection 3.5 weeks ago and my armpit and the back of my upper arm/shoulder is still numb. No one told me about this before the surgery so I was not prepared for this to happen. I would not have had any choice and still would have had to have the surgery but I wish someone would have mentioned this to prepare me. I also have pain in the back of my upper arm, feels like a very bad sunburn, also very bothersome. I will pray every day for the sensitivity to return, but the surgery was necessary to remove life threatening cancer from my body. If anyone has had an axillary node dissection and regained the feeling in their armpit, I would love to hear about it, would give me hope.

What type of cancer is breast cancer?

In some tumours, the cells stay in the same place and as the tumour stops growing before it gets very large - often because it simply runs out space to grow. These are called benign tumours and they are not normally dangerous. We all have benign tumours, such as moles and warts. However, in other tumours the cells are able to invade the surrounding tissue and spread into nearby organs where they can cause serious and, eventually, fatal damage. These are called malignant tumours.
